It’s Friday night and after the week I have had, I decided to stay home and spend some quality time with my husband.

Just to clarify, I am not actually married.  “My Husband” is an expression I use when referring to my all-time fantasy/dream man, Johnny Depp.  My closest friends and family are well aware of my imaginary life (obsession), one I tend to escape to when my real life is less than ideal.  This morning, I had to face too many realities–I have Endo cysts on my left ovary, my grandfather has Prostate Cancer and my Uncle’s father passed away yesterday.  It has been a tough day.

Thanks to the Endo and multiple tests I have endured over the last few days, my activities are limited.  So I decided to make it a movie night, starting with “The Tourist.”  Of course I own the newly released DVD.  I have a vast Johnny Depp collection.  So I pulled my blue leather recliner to the center of my living room, made myself a bowl of Tomato Basil soup (comfort food), grabbed a blanket and hunkered down to watch “my husband.”   Suddenly all was right with the world.

I will admit, “The Tourist” is not one of his better movies.  But the fact that he is in it, makes me happy.  Whether he is scruffy with long hair or clean cut and shaven, Johnny is my ideal man–I just wish he would give up smoking.  His birthday is June 9th, making him a Gemini.  Being a fan of astrology, I already know that since we are both air signs (I’m a Libra), we are very compatible.  Yes, I know, he is with Vanessa Paradis and they have two beautiful children but a girl can dream.  There is just something about him–his smile, his talent, his off kilter sense of humor, his desire to be different, his intelligence, and the air of mystery surrounding him.  I know that I am not the only woman who fantasizes about the man behind Captain Jack Sparrow.

I can only hope that someday I will find my real-life version of Johnny Depp.  A man who will constantly entertain me with his many talents, comfort me with his smile, and make my painful realities disappear with the sound of his voice.
