For months I have been taking Clairvoyance classes at The Green Man Store in North Hollywood. There it is, I am admitting it. Or as my friend Tracey would say, I am officially coming out of the broom closet. I can communicate with Spirit and I have been doing it since I was a child.
Actually, the first spirit that I remember talking to was my grandfather right after he died in 1987. I was only 8-9 years old. And a year later, my grandmother joined the conversation. I could always sense when they were around and when my father moved into their home in 1988-1989, my grandmother would actually stroke my hair to help lull me to sleep. I was never afraid of them. I felt nothing but love and protection from them. But I always thought that something was wrong with me so I didn’t really talk about it. I did my best to suppress it. But with Halloween being my favorite holiday and a fascination with ghosts & psychics, I guess I didn’t do a very good job.
Fast forward twenty something years and my old expression “I’m not weird, I’m gifted” takes on a whole new meaning. I discovered that my maternal grandmother’s mother was a psychic gypsy who left the family to become a nun and work as a healer in South America. An Ancestry DNA test taken in October proved I have Italian gypsy blood.
I am not a thief or a liar (I actually suck at lying, ask anyone who knows me). I am not a con artist who will pretend to read your fortune then steal your wallet or children. I am not a witch and I don’t worship satan. I was raised Catholic though I would now classify myself as being spiritual but not religious. (I have issues with religious organizations but that is another story).
So who am I? I am an empathic intuitive medium, meaning I know how to raise my vibration so I can journey over to the spiritual realm through a type of meditation. I can communicate with my spirit guides, angels and loved ones who have passed on. I am someone who is working on trusting her instincts, putting her over-analyzing mind over to the side, and discovering her life’s purpose–which for me is to help others.
Truth be told, we all have the ability to tap into our sight, aka mind’s eye, aka third eye, aka psychic abilities, etc. I am grateful that I found The Green Man Store where I have learned how to utilize my sight. In class we learned how to raise our vibrations with the help of music. From all the different songs we have used in class, I compiled a playlist of what works best for me.
I have yet to attempt to raise my vibration in my own home, I feel safer in class or in a church (St. Andrews Church in Pasadena has a very high vibration during mass). In class, the first thing we do is light candles and clean the space with incense. Then the music starts to play, we change our breathing (not as deep as yoga breathing but more of a fast meditative breathing), close our eyes and she guides us on our journeys.
Personally for me, the following songs work best:
#1: To Call in the guardians, protectors, the white light and the protective light, I like to use Coldplay’s “Fix You” or my friend Lauren’s song with Creep, “Dim the Lights.”
#2: Asking your spirit guides to cleanse off all the negativity from the day, week or month, I like Florence & The Machine’s “Shake It Out”
#3: For what I like to call my playtime in the spiritual realm, I like Delta Rae’s “Dance In The Graveyards.”
#4: For the journey back to “reality,” I prefer Sam Sparro’s Black and Gold.
Even if I am not trying to do any spiritual work, I really find this playlist, in this particular order, to be extremely helpful in terms of letting go of stress, anxiety and negativity. I use it to dance around on the other side and to dance around my house. If that makes me weird then so be it. I accept it and I will simply reply with a “yes, I am weird but I am also gifted.”
I won’t go to St. Andrews during mass. It would be too much for me. The in between and quiet days are just right for me. Thank you for sharing about your gift.
Yes, the high vibrations during mass can be intense. I am grateful that a friend taught me some grounding techniques so I can enjoy the high vibration setting without going too far. But there is definitely something to be said for the nice quiet days and going into a church or chapel for a private meditation in a safe space. My friends and I are trying out different churches in the area as well as the California Missions. I am hoping that I will also get the opportunity to do a spiritual retreat up at St. Andrews Abbey in Valyermo, CA.
I keep telling myself that I’m going to work on getting in touch with my spirit guides, intuitive self, higher purpose… I think I’m taking baby steps here and there, but I’m a long way from making any real strides.
Thanks for sharing your music list; I love the Cold Play and Florence selections, and I look forward to exploring the others.
