Today, Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group released a new featurette and nine character posters for the upcoming horror film Scream.
In December 1996, the world was introduced to the notorious Ghostface when Scream hit the big screen. Twenty-five years and several sequels later, our favorite landline-loving serial killer is back to terrorize the teens of Woodsboro once again and face off with the original survivors Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Dewey Riley (David Arquette).
In the new featurette, the actors — legacy cast members and new cast members — and director Tyler Gillett discuss why Scream‘s Ghostface is such a scary horror icon.
With so many other franchises jumping on the popular sequel bandwagon, why did filmmakers decide to resurrect Ghostface for one more scare and why now? Last month, another featurette was released to answer that specific question.
The nine new character posters serve as an introduction to the next generation of Scream characters: Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera), Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega), Liv McKenzie (Sonia Ammar), Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton), Amber Freeman (Mikey Madison), Chad Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding), Mindy Meeks-Martin (Jasmin Savoy Brown), Richie Kirsch (Jack Quaid) and Wes Hicks (Dylan Minnette).

Of course we cannot forget the legacy character posters that were previously released. Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers and David Arquette as Dewey Riley.

Scream, only in theaters, premieres January 14, 2022.
